By and large, it was perfect base for sightseeing in Fareham, had much fun. The staff were pleasant, accommodating, did all they can for a such great stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, I enjoyed it. I liked eggs and pudding at breakfast.

It had a gym and swimming pool unfortunaltey the Spa was shut, not sure why the spa would be shut over a bank holiday!
The booking desk was not sure what we had actually booked there seemed to be a lack of communication from booking online to the hotel reception, my friends were charged twice as he had left his credit card number in case of drinks etc it was only when his wife said she had already paid theyhad to go and ask for a refund which was a bit of a mix up, but we got there in the end

Excellend breakfast on both morning and great value for money. Good location for exploring Southampton, Portsmouth or New Forest. Great pub nearby just 10 mins "The Titchfield Mill". There was a wedding on the second night with a late night disco, but this in no way disturbed us.

Good standard of Holiday Inn, reception staff were friendly and efficient. Room was clean and adequate. Main bed was fine, although the pillows a little dated and perhaps need updating, even though there was the option of soft and firm ones. Sofa/ Camp bed that was supplied for my son wasn't the best and he found it very uncomfortable. He has slept in sofa beds at other hotels and been very happy. Perhaps a thicker / under mattress would have helped. Restuarant food was fine, a few issues with a main meal that lacked chicken and mushrooms, although this was corrected but perhaps should have been picked up by the chef. Childrens menu and choice was good. Buffet breakfast was good and although very busy on Easter Sunday the staff coped well, no issues with food. Hilary looked good in her Bunny outfit, even though she looked very embarrased ! Leisure facilities were fine, main pool a little shallow (max 1.2 m depth). Changing (male) room was untidy with lot's of wet towels left around and not collected. Other than that a good stay, no major issues. In terms of price, cheaper than the Shire where we normally stay, perhaps missing the little extras that the Shire provides but a very close second.
Beds, Pillows, Sofa / Camp beds. Leisure facilities and specifically untidy changing room. Bar drink prices and resturant food a bit pricey.

We were made very welcome by staff. I particularly liked the fact that the staff weren't all young kids and the mature lady on the desk was so nice. The location was great for our yachting on the Hamble and we are looking forward to staying again in a few weeks time.
